On 8th July Boeing unveiled the first prototype of its new 787 airliner. I do not intend to promote the products of a particular company in this blog, but the occasion is worth a post.This plane is really the first of the a new generation of aircraft, and when I say new I mean really a breakthrough, not mere accumulative improvement! Thanks to the fact it is made of composite materials instead of aluminum, it is going to be much lighter, consume less fuel and have much more comfortable cabins. Airlines seem to recognize the value of all these improvements and are rushing to order their 787s.
