I started reading War and Peace by Tolstoi during my last trip back from Barcelona and I could not stop...it is no short read, the edition I have is over 1000 pages in two volumes, but if you are interested in European History and the true Russian spirit you should not miss it!A good complement to understand more of the historical setting is 1812 by Adam Zamoyski.
